Why did I choose this school:
CSU is the only school in Cagayan offering BSChE program. My parents didn't allow me to study outside the province, despite passing the UPCAT, because of high cost of living and missing me (only child eh).
About CSU Carig:
My school, CSU Carig, is one of the two campuses in Tuguegarao. I was very fortunate to be in this campus because it is not located in the central part of the city, where there are air and noise pollutions. In fact, it is enveloped with fresh air due to lot of trees. There is also a subdivision near it, where it is occupied primarily of student-boarders, so you'll get to know a lot of people. And don't worry, Cagayanos are friendly that's why the province is dubbed as the Land of Smiling Beauty.
Since it is a State University, which means school fees are lesser than those of private schools, it is expected that it has a large population. The facilities (classrooms, CR, labs) are just fine; but it has undergone a lot of face lift since our grad. This includes the establishment of the Food Innovation Center, Conference Hall, and Red Eagle Gymnasium (biggest in Region 2). This face lift, especially in the main Campus in Tuguegarao also, has been a factor, I believe, why CSU hosted the recently held National SCUAA Olympics, last February 2015.
Instruction is great here. Professors are good; they are not terrors, but they are demanding, especially those in Engineering and Medicine. The courses themselves are demanding anyway. Btw, CSU is the only school in the region that offers Doctor of Medicine. Because of low tuition, it has been attracting a lot of international students.
My current job:
I am currently a Sales Engineer in a Fortune 500 mutinational company. We are selling transmitters. I support a team that prepares proposal and keeps track of customers' order until it is delivered to them.
How long did it take to find a job:
I started applying after passing the board exam. It took me less than 3 months to land on a supervisory job.
